Dear Everyone,
The annual CSF Walk for Life is just one of many sponsored activities, all across the country, in which members and friends of Cancer Support France raise money to fund their valuable work in supporting English-speaking people affected by cancer.
Last year, we held our Activity for Life in April at Caixas, a lovely village in the Aspres. This year, with the continuing support of the Mairie and the Comité des Fêtes, we will be at Caixas again, in September.

Please note the date – Thursday 17 September 2026. The longer walk, around 8km, will see us climbing to one of the ‘sources’ and the shorter walk, around 4km, will follow the same route as last year giving lovely views to the coast. Petanque will also be organised.
As usual, there will be coffee, tea and cake available to start with and home made quiche and cakes to supplement your picnics at lunchtime together with beer, wine and soft drinks. There will be a tombola, pre-loved books and CSF goodies available as well as some other items for sale.
Here is the Caixas website for further information about this village:

Do please reserve the date and let me know if you are interested. I can then ensure that you are kept informed with registration details as time progresses. And do tell your friends to contact me if they would like further information closer to the date.
Finally, may I say that I hope that you are surviving the weather and have not been affected by the serious fires that we have suffered here in the Pyrénées-Orientales this year. The continuing heat is making planning the longer walk difficult and it is likely that there will be two alternatives, one shorter.
Many thanks for your support in the past and we do hope you will be able to join us this year.
Kindest wishes,
Penny

In France the statistics are telling: 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer before their 85th birthday. However, because of dedicated specialists, groups and individuals, over 60% will be cured!

The more money we can raise, the more people we can help.
