We are undoubtedly spoilt for fabulous ‘stations balnéaires’ (seaside resorts) here in the P-O , but many of them are all about the beach and the sea itself – which means there’s not much going on in winter and early spring. Saint Cyprien however is an all-year-rounder.
A garden is forgiving, that I can attest to, since it gave in to my hopeful planting of radishes two months ago in winter and pushed up enough of the little devils to eat with butter and make me feel successful as a gardener.

With quaint, cobbled streets, pretty squares, lively shops, restaurants, and bars, and art and music museums, there is certainly enough temptation to hang around the town, but there is plenty going on around and about too.
Rasiguères and rosé – the alliteration is a fortunate coincidence for this village of vignerons. Though the quality of the wine speaks for itself.

Thuir, dynamic little town in the Aspres, is well worth a wander. Plenty of good restaurants, cafés and shops to while away a pleasant few hours, colourful and lively market….
Out for the day – enjoy the cherry blossom stroll in Amélie les Bains. Best viewed in springtime but a great excursion all year round
