Growing up between the game reserves in South Africa and the wilderness of the Australian outback, Ian Pendry discovered a love for nature early on in life. At university in Sheffield he met Angela, an international mountain bike racer and skilled ski mountaineer. The rest, as they say, is history.

Now in Saint Pierre dels Forcats, these outdoor enthusiasts are keen to share their expertise and their passion for the mountains. Having hosted the Interntational Mountain Leader qualification for the past 4 years, Ian is now looking to open up the beautiful and wild environment to mountain-novices.

As a fully qualified mountain leader, Ian not only assures your safety and security but he also brings to life the local flora and fauna. During last year’s excursions, he sighted the protected, and extremely rare, grand tetras, wild boar, deer and followed wolf tracks through the forest. He can even tell you if a squirrel is left or right handed for goodness sake?!

With twice-weekly excursions planned throughout the winter, this is the perfect way to get off the beaten track and discover the true magic of the Pyrenees. High mountain or deep forest, the rich variety on offer is sure to keep you coming back for more.
