FETE DE LA CERISE & CERET DE BANDAS
La Fête de la cerise (20th – 21st May 2023) is a colourful weekend of stone spitting, music, dancing and entertainment in the streets. Look out for the parade of the giants, brass bands, sardanes and inventive recipes involving cherries served up in the local restaurants.
And of course, the weekly market, held every Saturday morning beneath the hundred-year-old plane trees is surely one of the best in the area. Its smells and sounds drawing locals and tourists alike as accordion or jazz mingles in the warm southern air with artisan cheese and honey, local fruit and wine, olives and olive oil… and the café trottoirs overflow with people watchers.
