D0 you know how the word ‘boudoir’ originated?

An elegant way to describe a lady’s dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room in the past, boudoir comes from the French ‘bouder’ , to pout or to sulk and literally means  ‘a place to sulk in’ .

I think we could all do with one of those sometimes couldn’t we ladies?

The term was used mainly amongst the upper classes, who were usually the only ones with enough space to have their own sulking room!
