Attention arnaque: fake parking tickets
The latest scam doing the rounds across the whole country is the placing of fake parking tickets on windscreens.
The QR code that appears on these forged tickets take you to a very realistic, yet entirely fake version of the government’s fine-paying website.
The identified fake tickets take you to http://gouv-fr.fr but QR code scams are becoming all too frequent and other website addresses are popping up all the time.
If you receive a parking ticket, double check that the QR code is taking you to http://antai.gouv.fr, or better still, don’t scan anything and try to manually input the reference number into the government’s official fine-paying website: http://amendes.gouv.fr
