UPDATE

We have received some amazing artwork – thank you sooooooo much. There is so much talent out there and we’re looking forward to showing it all off on the front cover.

We’ve also been delighted to welcome some great new writers onto our tiny P-O Life team. Watch out for some new names heading informative and beautifully researched and written articles.

The mag goes to the printer in a couple of weeks so we don’t want to rush you but……

And keep an eye out for our on-line expo of all the artwork received which will go out in a future newsletter.

Your art, your writing, your poetry…

You don’t need to be a pro, a Picasso or a Billy Shakespeare. You just need to love what you do, what you’ve done or what you’re thinking of doing!

ART

P-O Life is a community magazine and we try wherever possible to bring you editorial from local english speakers. We would really like to turn the front cover into a showcase for local artists so if you have artwork that more or less fulfils the criteria below, and would like to see it go out over 100,000 times between paper mag and pdf, why don’t you send some examples to us at info@anglophone-direct.com.

Of course we can only use one per season so please don’t get grumpy or mean if we don’t use yours (speaking from experience) but we will try to showcase everything received at some point.

CRITERIA

Needs to be….
Portrait (vertical)
Very bright (strong reds, yellows, oranges, the colours of the season….watercolour etc tends not to work as often too pale.
Clearly recognisable as Pyrenees-Orientales (the most important really)
A focus like a chateau, someone jumping up in the air, a pig kissing a sheep, a cow jumping over the moon….
In return, we will post a banner on the inside cover with your details and where to see your art (or if you paint for fun we’ll put anything you want)

WRITING

Do you enjoy writing? Prose? Poetry? Short stories? A walk or day out? The quirks of village life chez vous? A strange tradition or custom that made you go ‘Whaaaaaaaat’?
For P-O Life to remain a community magazine, we need to publish work from the community! 🙂
Why not have a go? We’d love to publish you.
The only criteria is that it needs to be relevant in some way to the Pyrénées-Orientales.
