Nature lovers are invited to discover ‘The Art of the Garden’ festival
Taking place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March from 10am to 6pm, the Espace de La Catalane in Ille-sur-Tet will host over 50 exhibitors, sharing their gardening expertise with the public.
Displaying the rich diversity of their floral art, on offer will be a vast range of aromatic, medicinal and ornamental plants, seeds and grains, not to mention workshops on permaculture, organic soil rehabilitation, garden insects and more.
Expect a distinct Mediterranean flavour of orange and olive trees mingled with the heady, tropical tang of cacti and orchids; a colourful and fragrant iris display, intertwined with impressive succulents, and the timeless beauty of water lilies … mini landscapes, bonsai, roses and much more besides.
Local experts will also address the obvious and pressing issue of water shortages and drought!
The event allows visitors to discover collections of plants as surprising as they are elegant, with oft-overlooked varieties taking centre stage.
The grand jardin, which extends its tendrils to both exterior and interior spaces is a family-friendly event so whether you’re a keen green finger or just wanting to smell the roses, head to Ille sur Tet for L’Art des Jardins.
