This TV film is a portrait of  cellist Pablo Casals during the period of his exile in Prades, a refugee from the Spanish Civil War.

Through the relationship of the Maestro and a young student prodigy, the film addresses the issues of exile, freedom and the fight for peace in occupied France, at a time when thousands of Spanish refugees were pouring across the border.

Pablo Casals is played by Catalan actor Joan Pera.
