More French Proverbs
We all come out with a proverb or two don’t we? Pieces of wisdom, generously dispensed; short, pithy sayings usually expressing advice or judgement based on common sense or experience. Some of them have been around for centuries.
Using proverbs in your French conversation won’t necessarily make you sound like a native – in fact, scatter too many proverbs around and you might be accused of being a bit of a bore – but they’re good to know and can be useful.
After all, a nod’s as good as a wink to a blind horse! (Don’t ask!)
