Vive la France, Vive la Grève

Without getting embroiled in the politics, this is a list of strikes planned for the coming weeks. Check, double check and even triple check travel plans as strikes can come at any time, causing chaos for travellers.

Thursday 5th – Sunday 8th March

Strikes continue from the original action organised on the 5th December against the retirement reforms.

Particularly in the following areas…

  • Higher education & research
  • Air traffic controllers
  • Taxi drivers (6th March)

General Strikes

General strikes are planned to coincide with International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March and again on Tuesday 31st March.

Widespread disruption to be expected in major cities and across national transport links. You can check which trains will be running on the SNCF website here.

Air travel is also likely to be affected although the company should contact you directly if your flight is cancelled or delayed.

Higher education, schools and other public services also likely to join the action.
