“La circulation sur l’autoroute A9 est interdite à tous les véhicules de la France vers l’Espagne entre Narbonne et le PR0 après le Boulou (soit à la frontière) à partir de 21h“.

Catalan independence protest group the Democratic Tsunami, unknown new kid on the block, is blocking the A9 motorway and have set up improvised barricades using parked cars just after the border at La Jonquera, on both sides of the road.

The protest is expected to last for at least three days and has been described as the “most ambitious action” since the pro-independence leaders were jailed.

The group claim to be taking this action to make a point and to focus international attention on the issue of Catalan independence. More and more people are said to have arrived since the beginning of the protest on Sunday.
