Event Navigation

Hallo Everyone
I don’t think I’m imagining the feeling of Spring in the air? Certainly there are encouraging signs of renewal in my garden, plus the sunshine yellow of gorse and mimosa on the hillsides.
And please don’t forget – Jill Merriam, our Regional Representative for the PO, is doing a sterling job but is now in need of some help. If you think this could be you, please contact Jill at : sud-po@cancersupportfrance.org

CSF ANNUAL OPEN MEETING
Will take place on Wednesday 26 March at the restaurant Guy Molas (near the Céret Intermarché). There is on-site parking and easy access. Gather from 9h30 for coffee, with the meeting starting at 10h.
Our speaker is Chris Elliot, one of the few people with experience of operating a research ship in extreme polar environments. He joined British Antarctic Survey over 30 years ago, as a junior deck officer on the RRS John Biscoe and went on to command the RRS James Clark Ross. He has fascinating stories to tell about his work in the Antarctic and its many challenges.
The meal will be 22€, with the food being much appreciated last year. Choices need to be with jill.merriam@yahoo.com by 21st March at the latest.
Payment on the day can be by cheque, payable to CSF Sud de France, or by cash.
More details and menu here.
We will hope to see you there.
CSF Walk for Life Thursday 24 April 2025
This year we are pleased to be welcomed to the village of Caixas (just above Fourques between Thuir and Céret).
Explore our lovely region and have some fresh air and exercise. As in previous years, there will be a choice of two walks or petanque.
Bring your own picnic and enjoy the relaxed ambiance over lunch. For sale there will be beer, wine, tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes plus small savouries. Also pre-loved books, music CDs, CSF greeting cards and local art for sale.

All funds raised to support Cancer Support France – Sud de France + La Ligue contre le Cancer
Nationally in France March sees ‘Mars Bleu’, with the focus on initiatives against colon cancer. Most of us are aware of the free biannual tests offered to all between the ages of 55-74. A special event to raise awareness will be held at Perpignan’s main hospital on 26th March.
And then on the 27th March, ‘Le Printemps de la Cancérologie’ will be held at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan. Here is the link for the full programme. All the lectures and conferences will be in French. CSF will have a stand .
Please remember that if anyone is struggling or needing help, the CSF telephone and email helplines are always open. We are there for everyone needing assistance at this time as well as for those affected by cancer. There is also lots of information on our website. |
