Vignobles en Scène 2026

Clear your diary and find yourself a designated driver. France is celebrating its vineyards for an entire weekend and, frankly, we’re not going to argue with that.

From Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October, Vignobles en Scène returns for three days dedicated to wine, food, vineyards, local heritage and the people who make it all happen.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, you might remember its predecessor, the Fascinant Week-end. The event has been revamped as Vignobles en Scène, bringing together wine destinations across France for one big celebration of œnotourisme.

And living in the Pyrénées-Orientales, where it’s difficult to drive for very long without passing a vineyard, we are particularly well placed to join in.

More than just wine tasting

Obviously, there’s wine.

But the idea behind Vignobles en Scène is to get people out into France’s wine regions and discover everything that goes on around what’s actually in the bottle.

The participating destinations are part of the Vignobles & Découvertes network, a national label recognising destinations offering quality wine-tourism experiences.

For one weekend, vineyards, wine estates, restaurants, producers, cultural sites and tourism professionals put together special events and experiences.

The programme is divided into three rather tempting categories.

Les Gustatives

This is the tasty one.

Expect wine tastings, food and wine pairings, gastronomic workshops and encounters with winemakers, chefs and local producers.

Basically, discovering the region one glass and plate at a time. Tough work, but somebody has to do it.

Les Immersives

Want to earn that glass of wine first?

The Immersives take you out into the landscape with vineyard walks, cellar visits, sensory workshops, outdoor activities and other experiences designed to introduce you to the vines, countryside and people behind the wines.

It’s a chance to see that considerably more effort goes into producing a bottle of wine than wandering around in wellies occasionally tasting grapes.

Les Créatives

Wine meets culture with concerts, performances, exhibitions, projections and other creative events taking place in and around the vineyards.

Because apparently drinking local wine while listening to live music in a vineyard is considered a cultural activity.

Excellent news.

And then there are the Banquets Insolites…

One of the highlights of Vignobles en Scène is the Banquets Insolites.

These special meals bring together local wines, regional food, chefs, producers and winemakers in unusual or particularly beautiful locations.

Think long tables, local produce, plenty of conversation and, naturally, a glass or two of something produced very nearby.

What about the Pyrénées-Orientales?

With vineyards stretching from the Mediterranean coast to the foothills of the Pyrenees, the P-O doesn’t exactly need much encouragement to celebrate wine.

The region is home to an extraordinary variety of landscapes, grape varieties and appellations, from the vineyards overlooking the sea around Collioure and Banyuls to those spreading across the Roussillon plain and into the Agly, Aspres and Fenouillèdes.

In previous editions, wine-tourism weekends have included everything from vineyard walks and cellar visits to tastings, food pairings, music and unusual ways of exploring the vines.

So whether you’re a serious wine buff who can detect notes of wild Mediterranean herbs from three metres away, or you simply know that you rather like the red one, there should be something worth raising a glass to.
