Listeria Alert in the Roussillon

Listeria has been discovered during a routine test undertaken by a Leader Price store. A large number of Leader Price supermarkets have since been obliged to issue a warning following the report of listeria in batches of pork processed by the société Roussillon Salaisons, specializing in the manufacture of ready  meals and based at Polygone Nord, bought in from the Girona region.

The company have recalled 3,200 packs of cooked pig’s ears which have been shown to present a health risk since listeria was detected last Friday by employees of the Leader Price supermarket Roussillon.

The oreilles de porch “nature” or “à la galicéenne” have the brand name Régal Catalan.

The meat has been on sale since July 4 in the Leader Price supermarkets of Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Aquitaine, and Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur.

The company asks customers who may have purchased these products to either destroy them or claim a refund. If you have already eaten suspect products, you should look out for symptoms such as fever or headaches and see a doctor, as this bacterial infection could cause  meningitis, septicemia, and miscarriages.
