Orientation at the Parc de la Prade

Most of us know the long, sandy beaches that our region boasts but if you’re looking for something a little different, why not venture off the beaten track and discover the magic of the villages behind the beaches?

Saint Cyprien is one such example. It’s 7km coast line is a firm favourite with locals and visitors, whether they’re walking, running, roller blading, kite surfing or simply soaking up the sun.

But take a tour inland slightly and there’s a whole host of exciting places to (re)discover.

Parc de la Prade

Between the beach and the village, the Parc de la Prade is a veritable green haven for mallards, mandarins and swans, wading in a protected bird sanctuary.

With well-constructed paths, a sports trail, a multi-sports stadium and a children’s playground, it is the perfect place to take enjoy a breath of fresh air, marveling at nature and the breathtaking view of Canigou.

And during the month of May, make the most of your visit with an Orientation Race, organised by the Tourist Office.

Young and old are invited to test their skills in uncovering all the secret recoins (nooks and crannies) of the beautiful space.

Pick up your map from the Tourist Office, or download and print here. Then head to the park and find each of the 15 markers. At each site, use the punching machine to mark your map then take it back to the Tourist Office to claim your prize.
