Patrick O’Brian: A musical voyage
12th December 2016

By Ellen Turner Hall
The newly created Association Les Amis de Patrick O’Brian invites you to Patrick O’Brian: A musical voyage, starting at 18h30, Monday 12 December in the centre culturel of Collioure.
O’Brian is primarily famous as the author of Master and Commander and the 20 Aubrey-Maturin novels set during the Napoleonic wars. The writers Gildas Girodeau and Ellen Turner Hall and the musician Josep Cabré will present music (Mozart, Bach and Boccherini), photos and texts (in French and in English) to take you on a musical voyage of the maritime world of Patrick O’Brian.
Collioure was O’Brian’s home for over 50 years. The association Les Amis de Patrick O’Brian has recently acquired the remaining contents of O’Brian’s office. In collaboration with the Mairie of Collioure and the Commune des communes, we are working to make his books and objects available for public view and private study.
For an annual membership of 15 € you can help support our efforts to rescue and preserve
part of our literary heritage. Our team will be on hand to answer your questions and sign you up.
The evening will close with an aperitif offered by Mas Cristine. www.mascristine.com
