Chef Michel’s family have a long history in Amélie and Palalda, originally running the village épicerie. After crafting his trade in Paris where he worked in some of the best restaurants, he returned to his native P-O and runs Le Point d’Art in Montbolo with his friends and business partners Fabrice and Loubna.
The food is fresh, creative, and made with love. Think regional dishes all with individual, unexpected touches inspired by Michel’s time in Paris. Throughout the year you can taste exciting dishes enhanced by mushrooms from the Vallespir, Rousquilles from Arles sur Tech or Charcuterie from Céret. For the special Christmas menus you will taste lobster, beef fillet, truffles and much more!

Montbolo is 10 minutes from Amélie les Bains
Montbolo, 5km north west of Amelie is a sheltered village with enormous views, more than its fair share of sunshine and a large fortified XII century church. From the church it is possible to walk to the old mine workings of Formentère. The minerals from higher mines were transported 12 kms by rail to Formentere to be treated in a well preserved smelting tower. The old miners’ housing and various mining installations are very much in evidence and the view over Canigou, the Albères, the Vallespir, the tech valley, the Roussillon plain and the Mediterranean is splendid. .
