Fête de la Saint Jacques
The splendour of Canet Plage is intertnationally recognised but every July, the lesser-known Canet Village, comes to life for the Fête de la Saint Jacques.
A weekend of traditional folklore, community celebrations and plenty of fun in the sun, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July are sure to give the beach a run for its money.
3.30pm Opening of the kids’ attraction park (Médiathèque)
3.30pm Catalan folklore spectacle with la Llevantina (opposite café de l’Ecurie)
3.30pm Banda Lou Berretes (Place St Jacques and then through the streets)
5.30pm Castellers (Place St Jacques and then through the streets)
6.30pm Abrivada Bandido parade (from avenue du Château to rue du 4 Juillet)
8pm Giant BBQ with local businesses (Place Cassanyes)
10pm Correfocs – pyrotechnic display (from avenue du Château to rue du 4 Juillet)
9.30am Mass and Sardanes
11am / 3pm Ballade de Sardane (Place St Jacques)
From 12.30pm Banda Lou Berretes (through the streets)
6pm Abrivada Bandido parade (from avenue du Château to rue du 4 Juillet)
9pm Tombola (Place St Jacques)
There will also be 3 bodegas open Saturday 4pm-12am and Sunday 11am-12am.
