Caféclat presents……
Bray on Wine-Making in Roussillon
A boozy beginning is planned for the opening of the new season of Caféclat, the literary café in Collioure.
On Friday 26 September Richard W.H. Bray will talk about his book “Salt & Old Vines: True tales of winemaking in the Roussillon”.
Bray, a wine merchant from London, exchanged his pinstriped suit for a red-stained T-shirt to have a hands-(and feet-!) on experience of wine-making in the vines of Coume del Mas and Mas Christine.
The un-Romantic “sweat” part of the title is described in vivid detail: the back- breaking work of picking grapes, the finicky job of tinkering with a recalcitrant press, the cuts and bruises, the early mornings and late nights. All of which make pleasures – the camaraderie, the welcome first throatful of cold beer at the end of the day – that much more appreciated. Written in a breezy style, Bray’s book reads like he talks.

Bray sur Vin en Roussillon
Un début arrosé est prévu pour l’ouverture de la nouvelle saison de Caféclat, le café littéraire à Collioure.
Le vendredi 26 septembre Richard W.H. Bray parlera de son livre “Salt & Old Vines: True tales of winemaking in the Roussillon”.
Bray, un négociant en vins à Londres, a échangé son costume à rayures pour un T-shirt teinté rouge pour participer dans la vendange dans les vignes de Coume del Mas et Mas Christine. Dans un style très informel, le livre de Bray se lit comme parle son écrivain. Venez nombreux pour une soirée qui promet d’être animée.
