This is one of our favourite circuits that we have done fairly regularly in the last few years. Recently there have been extensions and improvements to the EV8 cycle path which passes by Sorède, so we decided to try them out.

Merry, Leigh and the three (Cap) Béars: You can do the whole thing in one go (8km, allow 3-4 hours, about 500m ascent/descent), but we found there’s so much beautiful scenery to see on each section we were happy to spread it over a few days.

This walk is not too difficult, but it is quite long, taking us about 5 hours in total (with a sandwich stop for lunch!). It is approx 10.5km long with about 500m of ascent and descent.

This is an energetic first part climb to the ridge between Port Vendres and Collioure for a spectacular view followed by drop down into Collioure and back along the Corniche road. It is well worth the physical demands.
