CSF NEWSLETTER: NOVEMBER 2025
1st November - 30th November
Event Navigation

Hallo Everyone
Well October brought us a sudden blast of Autumn – rain and mist definitely showing that ‘Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’. I’m rather too used to the sun shining most days, so was happy, after three days under grey skies and drizzle, to see the return of brighter days.
Drop Ins
Wednesday 5th November, Bar le Pablo, Céret, 10.30
Come along for a coffee and a chat. There will be some paperbacks to exchange and friendly faces – perhaps still on the terrace if the weather is kind.
Monday 17th November, Laroque
Good news – Angie and Pierre, the charming young couple who have taken over the Café des Artistes from the beginning of November, are happy to continue to host our CSF coffee morning and book exchange. So do come along to browse the range of pre-loved paperbacks – and we hear there will be a splendid new coffee machine too.
Wednesday 19th November, Villa Lafabrègue, Prades
Come and have coffee with us at this lovely venue, and bring a paperback or two to exchange.
Events this month
Monday 17th November – a special event
The afternoon Quiz and tea party we have been planning (with cake, tea and Cava) will take place in Thuir in the Salle Léon J Gregory in the afternoon. The doors will open at 2.30, with the quiz starting at 3pm.
There will be a half-time break for refreshments and cake. Teams will be of 4 people. Numbers are limited but please reserve a table in advance for a readymade team of four, or come along to make new friends and make up a team on the day. Pay your admission on the door at 10€ per person, which includes your afternoon tea and glass of bubbly. There will be a prize for the winning team.
In addition, there will be a bottle Tombola (do donate a bottle if you can), plus the sale of CSF Christmas cards.
For this fun new event, questions will be asked first in English, and then in French – so do invite your French friends to take part.
