La Fête de la Bastille or Fête Nationale marks the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789 and the beginning of the French Revolution of 1789. Here we give a brief outline of celebrations and fireworks around the region.
Enamoured of both the beauty and long and fascinating history of Port-Vendres, the Great Port Vendres Tapestry Association was started in July 2015 to create a large tapestry of the history of the town.
Tucked away off the coast road, half way between Port Vendres and Banyuls-sur-Mer, lies the bay of Paulilles, three beaches (Bernardi, del Mitg and Fourat) separated by rocky headlands, surrounded by steep and endless vineyards, and rugged mountains.
Walk: Cosprons, the Fortress Galline, Batterie 500, Tour de Madeloc, Fort Dugommier & Fort St Elme and back to Port Vendres.
