Alice & les Petits Guerriers

Make a note of the date because this promises to be an evening bursting with fun, and all in aid of an amazing local charity.

From 2.30pm on Sunday 24th September, head to the Cinéma le Vauban in Port Vendres for an afternoon/evening of great entertainment.

There’ll be music, singing, dancing and lots of surprises to boot, and it’s a family friendly event so bring the kids along too!

The associations

This event is supported by not one but two incredible local charities.

Présence Ecoute et Réconfort, based in Port-Vendres, works tirelessly to support and improve the well-being of seniors in our region. Among their many actions, they help with the often complex administrative procedures and host memory-stimulating workshops for nearly 150 people.

Alice et les petits guerriers was created in honour of Alice Brunel, who in 2022 died of cancer at the age of just 7. Her dad, Olivier, created the charity to provide better support for hospitalised children and their parents, who are often at a loss when faced with a child’s illness.

The Book

Olivier has written a sensitive and thought provoking book about his daughter’s heroic journey.

“Once the first symptoms appear and the diagnosis is made, the discovery of a paradoxical universe begins, where benevolence rubs shoulders with the reality of a relentless disease. Hope, dignity, energy: these three key words describe Alice, the child who drew life in her hospital room.”

ALL PROCEEDS from book sales will be donated to the “Alice et les petits Guerriers” association. 🌈 Do think about buying it. Good for your French and good for a deserving charity supporting a devastating illness. May it never happen to you and yours!
