Fête de la Saint Pierre
This festival, in honour of Saint Pierre, the patron saint of fisherman and the sea, as well as those who have been lost at sea, is a traditional fête that takes places annually in Saint Cyprien.
Here’s the 2025 programme (but check with the Office de Tourisme for any last minute changes).
Friday, June 27, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
→ 7:00 PM: Opening ceremony with the band Sol de Banyuls and a sardine feast hosted by Terra i Mar
Saturday, June 28, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM
→ 9:00 AM: Outing of the decorated Catalan boats
→ 10:00 AM: Bagad Kevrenn Alré performing throughout the day
→ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Band Les Canaillous
→ 12:00 PM: Parade of the Caps Gros (big-headed figures) by children from the Youth Center of Saint-Cyprien and Sant Cebrià de Vallalta
→ 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Havaneres (Catalan sea shanties) with Els Indians de l’Albera
→ 4:30 PM: Elegance contest for Catalan boats
→ 5:15 PM: Castellers (human towers) with Aire Nous de Bao
→ 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Band Les Canaillous
→ 8:00 PM: Sardine feast
→ 9:00 PM: Popular dance
→ 10:00 PM: Crémat (traditional flaming rum drink)
Sunday, June 29, from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM
→ 10:30 AM: Mass in honor of Saint Peter with musical accompaniment – Jardins Maritimes.
Followed by a procession and blessing of the Catalan boats
→ 11:00 AM: Street performance with Salanc’aires
→ 12:00 PM: Grilled prawns by Terra i Mar
→ 3:00 PM: Traditional dances by Els Dansaires de Thuir
