Following the succes of the Céret marathon, the town is now inviting hikers of all ages and abilities to get involved with a family-friendly walking challenge.

On Sunday 1st October, competitors and recreational participants will gather at 7.30am at the Gymnase des Tilleuils in Céret town centre, ready to embark on an exciting outdoor adventure, with circuits suitable for the whole family.

Each team will be given a map to navigate their chosen course and as you progress around the circuit, you will find multiple-choice questions, which you must answer before moving on to the next.

If you’re feeling up to the challenge, sign up to the 16-20km circuit. The circuit is not sign posted so you must rely on your own map reading skills to find your way. A minimum speed is required and will be monitored at check points at various locations. In teams of 3-4 people, the competition will start at 8am. Participants must present a medical certificate and be a member of the FFRandonnée.

For a more leisurely experience, sign up to the shorter but still-rewarding circuit of 6-12km that leaves at a much more sociable 9.15am. In teams of 2-6, this is a perfect option for a romantic day out or a fun-filled activity with friends and family. The circuit is also well sign posted so don’t be put off by dodgy orienteering skills!
