Celebrate Easter 2026 Across the Pyrénées-Orientales
As spring settles across the Pyrénées-Orientales, Easter offers the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy the region. With a mix of tradition, community events and family-friendly activities, towns and villages come alive with celebrations, from egg hunts and markets to special services and seasonal gatherings.

🐣 Easter Egg Hunts & Family Events
A number of Easter egg hunts and family-friendly activities take place across the region each year, particularly over the Easter weekend.
Events are expected in:
Saint-Cyprien (Jardin des Plantes)
Canet-en-Roussillon
Le Soler (Lac du Moulin)
Toulouges (Parc de Clairfont)
Prats-de-Mollo
Torreilles (Chapelle de Juhègues)
Many of these events are free and aimed at younger children, often taking place in the morning.
🎭 Giants Parade – Villefranche-de-Conflent
The Fêtes de Pâques in Villefranche-de-Conflent return from 4 to 6 April 2026, bringing a weekend of traditional celebrations to this historic village.
A highlight of the weekend is the colourful Giants Parade, taking place on Easter Sunday (5 April) at 11am, where traditional Catalan giants (gegants) process through the streets accompanied by music and festivities.
With additional entertainment, street performances and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend, it’s one of the most vibrant Easter events in the region.
🥚 Easter Omelettes
A much-loved local tradition, the Easter omelette (omelette pascale) is celebrated across the Pyrénées-Orientales on Easter Monday, bringing communities together to share food, music and a festive atmosphere.
Saint-Cyprien
Taking place in the heart of the village, the Easter omelette in Saint-Cyprien is a popular annual event. Visitors are invited to gather in front of the mairie from 12pm on Monday 6 April 2026 to enjoy a generous communal omelette, often accompanied by music and entertainment.
Cerbère
In Cerbère, the tradition continues with a friendly and informal gathering on Monday 6 April 2026 from 12pm, where locals and visitors come together to share a classic Easter omelette and celebrate the day in good company.

One of the most well-known events, the Procession de la Sanch, traditionally takes place on Good Friday (3 April 2026) in:
