Not the most cheerful of titles or films, but if you love the scenic Vallespir, the 2018 Spanish drama, Sunday’s Illness, was filmed in and around pretty Prats de Mollo
Directed by Ramón Salazar,. It was screened in the Panorama section at the Berlin International Film Festival, for its great scenery.
PLOT
When Chiara was eight years old her mother left her and her father. Thirty-five years later Chiara tracks down her Mum and asks for just ten days together.. Anabel sees in these ten days the chance to get her daughter back. They cook for one another, go on walks in the woods, attend a local fair….but never quite seem to find that mother/daughter relationship.
What Anabel doesn’t know is that Chiara has a hidden agenda and that she will have to face the most important decision of her life.
