From the beginning of December, the SNCF will compensate TGV and Intercités passengers who arrive more than 30 minutes late at their destination.

Compensation will be ‘quel qu’en soit le motif’, (no matter what the reason).

Until now the SNCF only compensated passengers where the delay was within their control, excluding bad weather, or any third party involvement.

If your train is delayed by more than 30 minutes, visit the SNCF site and click on ‘garantie ponctualité’. You should receive a ‘bon d’achat’ (voucher) within 48 hours that you can use throughout the SNCF network – 25% reimbursement for a delay of 30 minutes to 2 hours , 50% for 2 – 3 hours and 75% for anything over that.
