When Urine Barcelona….
Taking the train to Barcelona? At least 50% of you should be able to benefit from an analysis of your hydration levels, tested via your pipi! Definitely not bog standard, these innovational ‘smart urinals’ have been installed by Barcelona-based company Kamleon in the ‘baños para hombres’ at Sants station
A sensor designed to check for abnormalities in urine flow that might signal bladder or prostate problems, analyses urine parameters. A screen above the urinal gives the result as a score, to indicate the user’s state of hydration, with the possibility in the future to scan the result with a QR code and obtain a more in-depth analysis.
Kamleon CEO, Jordi Ferré explains the bottom line of these new urinals, which is to raise awareness and remind users of the importance of drinking regularly to improve well-being, health, and prevent possible diseases linked to lack of hydration.
The system has already been tested at the French Olympic Training Centre in Font Romeu, with very good results.
Many people don’t drink enough, leading to moodiness, headaches or migraines, fatigue and dizziness amongst other health problems.
The same company is also working on a new ladyloo model of a smart urinal for women.
Butt you’d be potty to believe that there is such a thing as a free lunch! Both the smart urine analysis and the hydration station are free services as part of the paid toilet visit.
