The Mexican Suitcase’ describes the contents of three cardboard boxes of 4,500 35mm negatives of the Spanish Civil War by Robert Capa, Gerda Taro, and Chim (David Seymour), who risked their lives to witness history in the making.
Originally, Jazzèbre was a jazz festival based largely in Perpignan and held each autumn, but it’s since become a much more ambitious project. The team behind it has a a much more far-reaching objective: to reach the largest possible audience with music of all genres, during as much of the year as possible.
Usually held indoors, this year the ‘fête’ comes out into the street to conform with Covid recommendations. It’s likely to be very different from past years but why not pop along to Amelie, support local markets and check it out?
