N’OUBLIEZ PAS LES PAROLES! (Don’t forget the words)
Could this be your 15 minutes of fame? French TV show N’oubliez pas les paroles! (Don’t forget the words) is casting in Perpignan on the 12th February 2020.
N’oubliez pas les Paroles! is a popular France 2 show, hosted by Nagui, which airs every evening at 7.45pm from Monday to Saturday. The production team is looking for karaoke lovers in the Pyrénées-Orientales to appear on the show to sing with house band ‘Zicos’ and potentially win €20,000.
You’ll have to know your Jonny Halliday from your Mylène Farmer though. The show involves singing along to French pop songs with the band while reading the lines on autocue, karaoke-style, and then carrying on alone a cappella filling in the rest of the words from memory. The winner of each day’s programme becomes the maestro and returns to do battle the following day.

It’s not for the faint-hearted though! The audition process involves a phone interview to see if a candidate’s voice passes muster. Those who are successful then sit a written test to assess their knowledge of the lyrics to French songs followed by a voice test performing a well-known song in front of other candidates and the casting team. Those that get through all that will be screen-tested before the casting director makes his final choice to appear on the show in the 2-4 weeks following selection.
