Carnival Amélie les Bains
10th February - 16th February
The carnival in Amélie is steeped in history, with the first official appearance in the press being a report in the « Courrier de Céret », dated 18th March 1888. It has taken place every year since 1945 and is now known as one of the most popular in the P-O.
Saturday 10th February – Salle Trescases
1030: “Casament Tremblant” mariage grotesque et délirant.
3pm : Bal for the kids, (2€)
9pm : Masquerade ball (2€ / free entry for masked attendees).
Sunday 11th February – town centre & Salle Trescases
3pm : First procession, lighting up the town centre with colours, flowers smiling faces
530pm : Grand bal (free entry)
Saturday 17th February – town centre & Salle Trescasses
3pm : Second procession
5p30m : Grand bal (free entry) and prize giving
9pm : Night parade of Grégoires Améliens, majestic procession dressed all in white, followed by burning of carnaval king
10.30pm : Grand bal
