Carnaval Amélie les Bains

The carnival in Amélie is steeped in history, with the first official appearance in the press being a report in the « Courrier de Céret », dated 18th March 1888. It has taken place every year since 1945 and is now known as one of the most popular in the P-O.

Saturday 5th March
3pm : Procession through the streets
5m : Grand bal and prize giving in the Salle Trescases – free entry
9pm : Night parade of Grégoires Améliens, majestic procession dressed all in white, followed by burning of carnaval king
10.30pm : Grand bal
