The meaning of Argelès

Did you know that the name Argelès comes from the Latin ‘argila’ meaning clay?

Its motto is rather fascinating – «qui s’hi acosta, té resposta” meaning ‘he (or she) who rubs himself up against it will get pricked” – a Catalan way of saying ‘Once you get here, you won’t ever want to leave’!!!
