When the Queen Came Calling…

Well, not really, but one of her planes did! For a very brief 24 hours, between Sunday 26th and Monday 27th September, the BAe 146 « ZE700 » Royal Airforce jet made a stopover in Perpignan!

Having arrived from Brest, before returning to the Northolt base, ZE700, also known as Queen’s Flight, is one of the four aircraft belonging to 32 Squadron, used to transport members of the Royal Family.

Although not for much longer. These 38 year old jets are now too expensive to maintain and from next year, will be retired from service… making this week’s stopover all the more remarkable.
