On 7th June 2018, the “Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Roussillon Association” will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of “Toshie’s” birth. An important occasion for all Scots as he has helped us to be recognised as more than a people with beautiful landscapes, bagpipes, tartan and whisky!

Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Roussillon Association”

Also, an important occasion for our region as he and his wife, Margaret, spent about 5 years (their happiest) here, when he was painting the watercolours of the area, for which he subsequently became famous.

Our celebration will be based in the “Jardins du Dome” in Port-Vendres.

Visitors will be able to wander around the Centre, purchase from our beautiful array of gifts, reproductions of his paintings and postcards and then enjoy some good Scottish fare.

To make our event go with a swing we would love to be able to provide some live Scottish music (bagpipes and/or fiddles). A demonstration of Scottish dancing would also enliven our event.

Are there any of you out there who could help us? If so, please contact Jane Forsyth 0468820617. We should love to hear from you.
