Is hassle-free travel with no visa requirements between America and Europe about to end?

American passports and visas

The European Parliament has taken a tough line on visa free travel and is considering enforcing visas for Americans visiting Europe. Dreamed up in retaliation for America’s refusal to allow visa-free travel for travellers from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Poland and Romania, all EU countries, it is likely to cause difficulty and disruption for American travellers – and further retaliation by the American government..

It is hoped that America will agree to withdraw this policy, in which case the initiative will not go ahead.
