You know we love a local hero story here at P-O Life so here’s something that will truly warm your hearts.
Introducing Antoine Martin, owner of the Chez Antoine restaurant in Les Angles.
Antoine and his pal André-Luc Montahnier, mayor of Fleury (just over the border in the Aude), were attending the Salon International de l’Agriculture in Paris to promote the excellent work of livestock breeders down here in the south.
As they were strolling around the stalls, they were suddenly and unexpectedly struck by the lightening bolt that is love at first sight.
Yes, that’s right, the pair instantly succumbed to the bountiful charms of the lovely Omerta… 1.2 tonnes of blonde Aquitaine beauty, and they bought her on the spot.
Saved from the abattoir, Omerta will now enjoy a life split between the summer pastures of Les Angles and the Loustalet estate in Saint-Pierre-de-la-Mer, just north of Gruissan.
But that’s not all…
Not only has Omerta secured herself a second lease of life by charming Antoine and André-Luc, but she has also enjoyed her place in the spotlight as belle of the ball, crowned Queen of the Salon de l’Agriculture.
