As the summer temperatures rise here in the P-O, our thoughts turn to water! It’s been in short supply this year so we appreciate it even more.

This 350km cross-border cycle loop passes through 53 towns and villages, including our beautiful P-O, the Costa Brava, Girona, the volcanic Garrotxa region and the Col d’Ares above Prats de Mollo…
We are undoubtedly spoilt for fabulous ‘stations balnéaires’ (seaside resorts) here in the P-O , but many of them are all about the beach and the sea itself – which means there’s not much going on in winter and early spring. Saint Cyprien however is an all-year-rounder.
Les hotels particuliers – magnificent private mansions of well-to-do families constructed between the 16th and 19th centuries.
Is it a church? Was it a mosque? Does the curious clover leaf shaped Notre Dame de la Merci in Planès conceal the tomb of Abu-Nezah, the Arab Governor of the Cerdagne?
Walk the Region. Amelie, Montbolo, Palalda. A cool walk for hot summer days, this 3h 30 mins – 8 km circular walk has approximately 450 metres of ascent, virtually all in the first half, along shady forest tracks.
The Knights Templar, soldier knights, returning to France from the Holy Land, made Mas Deu their administrative and religious headquarters in Roussillon.
This Conflent cave is an amazing, animated dinosaur experience.
