UPDATED JANUARY 2026

Mon espace santé: online digital health platform

Mon espace santé is the official digital health platform developed by the French Ministry of Health to improve access to care and coordination between patients and health professionals.

Building on the principle of the dossier médical partagé (DMP), Mon espace santé was launched nationally in 2022 and has since become a central tool in the French health system. The platform continues to be developed and enriched with new services.

Anyone registered with Assurance Maladie should have received a letter or email (never a text or a phone call) inviting them to activate their account. If you never received this message, it is still possible to generate a new activation code online. (See below)

Most people eligible for French healthcare automatically have an account created for them.

The aim of Mon espace santé — often shortened to “l’espace” — is to simplify healthcare procedures and improve communication between patients and professionals, while giving individuals greater control over their personal health data.

If you signed up for the DMP before 1 July 2021, all your records were automatically transferred to Mon espace santé. The DMP is no longer open to new registrations but remains accessible to users who previously had an account. One of the limitations of the original DMP was that it relied heavily on healthcare professionals to update it. Mon espace santé shifts this balance by allowing patients themselves to add, manage, and share information more freely.

⚠️ Mon espace santé is not available to people who are not registered with the French health system.

What information is stored?

Mon espace santé centralises a wide range of medical information, including:

  • prescriptions
  • treatments
  • test results
  • medical imaging
  • medical history
  • allergies
  • hospital reports
  • vaccinations

Users decide which documents are stored and who is authorised to access them.

Additional features

The platform also includes:

  • a secure messaging service for communicating with healthcare professionals
  • a health calendar to track appointments, vaccinations, screenings, and treatments, with reminders and alerts
  • access to a government-approved directory of healthcare professionals and services
  • personalised prevention advice and health notifications
  • a catalogue of approved digital health apps and services, allowing users to connect trusted third-party tools to their space
  •  several tools that are particularly helpful for people unfamiliar with the French healthcare system
  • possibilty to exchange messages and documents securely with healthcare professionals who use the platform, without relying on email or post.

How does it work?

Once you activate your account, you can enter health information yourself and choose which professionals are authorised to view or add to your records. You remain in control at all times and can modify access permissions whenever you wish.

Mon espace santé brings together:

health records, secure messaging, a calendar, a professional directory, and digital health services — all in one place.

How does it work?

Once you create your account, you can enter health data yourself. You can also authorise health professionals to do the same.

For non-French natives it can:

  • help avoid repeating tests or paperwork
  • make it easier to explain your medical history to new doctors
  • centralise documents from different providers
  • improve continuity of care, especially if you move or change doctors

In short:

Mon espace santé is a secure, government-run digital health space that helps you to navigate the French healthcare system more confidently and efficiently.

  • The interface is in French only, but most terms are medical and familiar.
