One of the many irrigation canals that criss-cross the Pyrenees-Orientales runs through the pretty village of Rodès. Enjoy a relatively light walk of 1 – 1.5 hours. A small section of climbing but nothing too challenging.

Motorbiking the region: Orgues, Gorges, Cathars, Romans and Dams- with Leigh and Merry Foster. This is one of our favourite rides, as it includes some spectacular scenery, lovely winding mountain roads, and lots of fascinating places to stop and explore. You could equally do it by car, but we find the motorbike more fun and easier to pull off the road to look at the beautiful views in safety.
Be prepared for company when you hike up the loaf-shaped hill overlooking Oms for a sunset apero or picnic, because friendly goats with Vogue hair will gladly share their paradise with you. The path up La Calcine is steep in parts but the spectacular 360° views are more than worth the effort.
