Mon espace santé: online health platform to improve French health care
Digital health platform
Building on the principle of the dossier médical partagé (DMP), the recently created (2022) online health platform, Mon espace santé, is an initiative that the French Ministry of Health continue to develop and improve.
Anyone registered with Assurance maladie should have received a letter or email over the past few years, inviting them to join the online platform.
The aim of the ‘espace’, to which it tends to be shortened, is to improve health care by facilitating procedures and exchanges between patients and health professionals.
Never seen this letter? No worries, you can generate a new one here.
If you signed up to the DMP before the 1st July 2021, all your records and data will be automatically have been transferred. The DMP is no longer open to new registrations but remains visible to those who already had an account. The original initiative of the DMP was not very successful as many health professionals simply didn’t have the time, training or interest to refer to the dossier. The new ‘espace santé gives the patient him/herself more freedom to add and share information.
What information is stored?
Mon espace santé centralises:
- prescriptions,
- treatments,
- test results,
- medical images,
- medical history
- allergies,
- hospital reports,
- vaccinations
- and more…!
It also includes a secure messaging service for communicating with health care professionals and a calendar to keep track of upcoming appointments, complete with reminders and alerts.
You should also be able to access a government-approved list of practitioners and health services.
How does it work?
Once you create your account, you can enter health data yourself. You can also authorise health professionals to do the same.
