We all learn differently, and as we grow older, one of the greatest blocks to learning is memory. And yet many of us can still sing along to new songs – and remember the words!
First released in June 1960 by Brian Hyland, “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” was released at a time when bikinis were still considered a bit ‘risqué’. It gave an enormous boost to bikini sales and ladies of all shapes and sizes rushed out to embrace this sexy new freedom.
The song was adapted into French as “Itsy bitsy petit bikini” and into German as “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Honolulu-Strand-Bikini!
Recorded in French by Dalida and then by Johnny Hallyday, the lyrics are simple and easy to follow for French learners.
