Without getting embroiled in the politics, this is a list of strikes planned for the coming weeks. Check, double check and even triple check travel plans as strikes can come at any time, causing chaos for travellers.

From 18th November

Farmers once again take up strike action against the trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur. Expect road blockages and farmers’ presence on roundabouts and junctions.

19th November – 22nd November

Creches and pre-school education centres are taking strike action to voice their discontent with salaries, the lack of staff and worsening access to resources.

20th November – 22nd November

SNCF rail providers are on strike against the dismantling of the freight services. If an agreement is not reached on the 22nd November, they will likely strike again in December.

5th December

Public services will strike to voice their disagreement with government proposals to cut a significant number of civil servant jobs.

23rd – 31st December

Laboratories and medical testing centres will go on strike for the week over Christmas denouncing the drastic reduction of budget for biological medecine.
